LMV Automotive Systems, a division of Magna International, has been in Liberty's Heartland Meadows Business Park since 2012.
The project started as a 212,000 square foot manufacturing building that supplies components to the Ford Transit Van.
In 2014, LMV expanded their plant by adding 256,000 square feet to accommodate a contract with GMC to provide components to the Chevrolet Malibu.
In 2015, LMV continued to expand their operation. LMV opened a new Innovation and Training Center as part of their facility. This Center will train hundreds of new employees in skilled trade needed for the automotive facilities and manufacturing best practices.
The last expansion brought new employees to work on components for Cadillac,
LMV now has 670 employees at the facility. This location provides the “just in time” quick access to both Ford Assembly Plant and the General Motors Plant.
The City of Liberty, in conjunction with Liberty Economic Development Council, the State of Missouri and Kansas Area Development Council provided an assistance package that included Chapter 100 Tax Abatement, Missouri Works Program and an Economic Development Infrastructure Grant that resulted in a perfect fit in the Heartland Meadows Business Park.
